The second Future Global Leaders Conference is a multi-format debate and diplomacy conference offering students aged 10-13 years the opportunity to discuss and seek solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues in Arabic language. With the theme “Sharpen your Mind for a Better Future,” our conference strives to offer a forum where young minds from different walks of life can unite to reflect on, realise the importance of, and debate some of our society’s most pressing issues.
The topics of debate included School Bullying, World Poverty, Mixed Gender Education, and Women’s right.
The conference equips delegates to become the future leaders of change, enabling them with an opportunity to discuss global betterment, improve their understanding about international affairs, enhance their teamwork skills, hone their leadership abilities, and enhance their diplomatic, debating and speaking skills in Arabic.
It is also set apart from many other similar conferences in a multitude of ways, which makes us truly one-of-a-kind. Three of the ISP Middle East schools participated in this conference, allowing the students and teachers to get to know each other and share good memories together. Nibras International School, Reach British School and Aspen Heights British school were in attendance along with one other non-ISP school.
“I was very pleased to participate in the future leaders' conference that was organised by our school. I gained skills such as speech and debate communication skills, self-confidence, cooperation and the art of dealing with diplomacy.I was very impressed by the role of the chairperson of the committees, the trainers and students whom I knew and I will use this to start preparing myself to become a leader of the future.
Thank you to my school Reach." Roaa, Year 6, Reach British School
“I have recently attended my first, ever, ISP Arabic Conference. This conference has, honestly, been the best experience in my life that helped me to learn many new things. I went into the conference extremely worried about having to give a speech in front of others, but my worries disappeared, almost instantly, when the conference actually began. The judge and all the other delegates were extremely friendly and encouraging, making sure that I gave it my best. While presenting all my thoughts and ideas it felt more like a discussion than a competition which instantly put me at ease. All discussions made in the conference made me more knowledgeable and aware of the world and other countries. I didn’t want the conference to end, but I knew that I would be leaving it with a new experience, more knowledge, and many new friends.” Maya, Year 9, Nibras International School

“I was very delighted to participate in the future leaders' conference. The experience added many new things to my personality such as my debating skills, self-confidence and learning respect for other peoples opinions. I also had the chance to be prepared to be one of the future leaders. I met new people and I built good relationships with others across all schools. I am proud to be part of this conference and looking forward for next year.” Omar, Year 6, Aspen Heights British School
